The 5th of September will always be a gloomy day for JACK as in 2006 babies JAK and TOUZO died in a sabotage. For the ones who don’t know what happened, you can go on the link below and you’ll understand more about us:

JAK (top) died on post because of the fumes and the flames and TOUZO (below) died one week later. Not funny pictures, but this is what really took place!!
We miss you JAK.
We miss you TOUZO.
You’ll always be in our hearts.
Forever!
The J.A.C.K. team

With the Congolese authorities, we are working to end the illegal trade of chimpanzees in eastern DRC.

Thank you for posting these difficult, disturbing images. They are a reminder of what’s a stake in the battle to protect wildlife.
Thank you for your work.

Yes, this anniversary is very hard for the folks at J.A.C.K. but through this horrible, horrible tragedy, you should find comfort with all the animals you have helped. Again, rest in peace little Jak and Touzo.

Oh my god I had no idea this is how it all started! So gut wrenching to view those pictures of those poor babies! I cannot even imagine how you guys must have felt! Thanks for always keeping Jak and Touzo’s memory alive! I hope the pigs that did this got what they deserved..this just makes me so angry!!! I do not understand how people do such things!

Jack and Touzo will always be alive through your work and dedication.
The pics, which I remember very well, are really disturbing but unfortunately they need to be shawn from time to time as a remembrance of this tragedy caused by criminals hands.
Warm regards to all of you and a pray for the two babies.

I will never in my life ever get over what happened at JACK…it is truly a testament to you and Franck and everyone there that you were able to keep the faith and persevere.

You and Franck have been persistent in your goal despite this horrible attack. I can’t think of a better way to honor Jak and Touzo. These little ones will always be in our hearts and one day the person or persons who did this will have to answer for this cruel, heartless act. Jak and Touzo are free now and back with their mothers. No one can ever hurt them again.

Roxanne - a friend’s relative has passed away. She and her husband are regular contributors to J.A.C.K. and I wanted to make a contribution in memoriam of this relative. Is there a way to do this and to assure that she will recieve notice, as well? Thanks. Sue
